Denmark are the surprise leaders in Group A. The Danes kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a goalless draw away to Hungary but quickly found their rhythm.
They are on 18 points, three clear above second-placed Sweden, thanks to an unbeaten run throughout the campaign so far.
Denmark have the best goal-scoring record in the group with fifteen goals in eight matches – six more than Sweden.
But Sweden possess the best defense in the table with only three goals conceded. Clean sheets against Portugal home and away, Albania away, and Malta in both legs have helped Sweden become the best defensive side in Group A.
Sweden’s only defeat in this World Cup qualifying campaign came against Denmark in earlier this year in June. Apart from this misfortune, the Swedish have mastered late victories against Hungary and Malta to take their tally to four wins out of eight games.
